THE CHALLENGE
Employees crave feedback on their performance. Failure to conduct regular performance reviews – even skipping a single performance appraisal – can degrade the quality of their work and lower their personal performance standards.
Reviewing performance and the Performance Development Review (PDR) is not just a set of processes. Used well, it offers a constructive and flexible approach to reviewing your team members in a way that inspires and motivates them to be the best that they can be. It also forms part of a wider, holistic approach to performance management.
THE SOLUTION
Reviewing Performance ensures that your team are aligned with current business objectives and overall strategy and are clear in their own purpose. This workshop explores the purpose and mechanics of the PDR process and promotes a coaching style approach, looking at the role of the PDR within the performance management and development process. The session is a companion to the Performance Coaching programme that we offer in the Aspire framework, which we recommend (especially to those newer to line management) is attended before coming onto this ‘Reviewing Performance’ workshop.
Participants will discover how to:
Understand the importance of reviewing performance
Be confident in setting ‘SMART’ objectives
Identify and use key skills and techniques to review performance
Be confident to give meaningful feedback
Identify key stages to development planning

This program is delivered over 2 hours on MS Teams.
This program is delivered virtually.
To get the most from our session, we would ask you to reflect and prepare in advance.
Before we meet, please think of a real conversation you need to have—either work-related or personal. This could be:
✔ A difficult conversation you’ve been avoiding.
✔ A relationship you want to improve by starting a conversation.
You will not be asked to share details of the issue, the people involved, or any specifics with the wider group. Instead, you will work one-on-one with a programme partner in full confidence.
The session will focus on themes and approaches, not personal details, ensuring a safe space for learning and practice.
